Current Worship Services

A word from our Pastor

COVID-19 is a highly contagious and potentially fatal virus. Many carriers are
asymptomatic. Singing, in particular, is an especially easy way for the virus to spread. Many members of our congregation have pre-existing conditions and, sadly, it is challenging for children (and even some adults) to obey social distancing recommendations, even when lives are at stake.
Having considered a variety of factors, our leadership has chosen to move forward cautiously. On May 12 our Session voted, following much deliberation, to continue the suspension of in person worship services through August 31, 2020. Our small worship team, not to exceed 10 people, will continue to offer worship services virtually on Facebook Live at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings. The services will also still be available on our church website on Sunday afternoons.
Typically, Westminster would now be making preparations for the addition of a
second worshiping opportunity early on Sunday mornings during the months of June, July, and August. Given that the congregation will not be present, Session voted to proceed with just one service this summer. That service will occur at the regular time of 10:30 a.m., and will be available to you as outlined above. In essence, there will be no change regarding the day of week, time of day, or viewing format for the worship experience from now through August 31.
Next, just as Session voted to suspend in person worship services through the end
of August, so too our leadership has determined that no group activity involving more than two individuals at the same time in a defined space whether indoor or outside, shall be permitted before the end of August. The one exception is the worship team gathering to record services for the congregation.
We understand how challenging these past two months of social distancing have
been, and we know that the continued suspension of in person activities will increase the emotional pain that many are now experiencing. Still, we love you too much to endanger you and your family. As an alternative, we welcome your participation in the many virtual activities of our church. These include a Monday evening Bible study, a monthly book club, an adult education offering that is now being formulated, a parenting group, Vacation Bible School, committee meetings, and, of course, worship. In the meantime, if you are in need of support during this season of hardship, do not hesitate to contact me or any member of our staff team. We are here for you, we miss you, and we are thinking of you often.
May God’s peace be with you,

Pentecost Offering – Rahab Ministries

I am inviting you all to fill out this online form, listing your top five favorite hymns (in order of preference). During worship on Sunday, August 2nd, we’ll have an old-fashioned “hymn sing,” in which we’ll sing the top ten hymns of the congregation. Valerie Thorson, Director of Music & Organist.
